Re buy Poker Tournaments

A re buy poker tournament is different to a conventional tournament in the sense that with a normal tournament you pay your buy in fee for example $8 + $0.80 you are then given you starting tournament chips say $1000, if you bust out and loose all of your chips in a hand you are then eliminated from the tournament and can no longer participate.

The difference with a re buy tournament is that if you are bust out with In the first hour of the tournament play you are more than welcome to pay the buy in fee (in this case $8) and start again with the set amount of starting chips ($1000). You can even re buy $1000 chips at any point during the hour as long as your chip stack is below $1000, to give yourself a little boost

Once the first hour of play is over you then are given the choice of buying what is called an “add-on” this allows you to buy a set amount of chips for your buy in value this amount is normally just over your starting chips so for example if you started with $1000 chips you can normally add on $1500 chips, unlike a re buy an add on can be placed on any amount of chips, a add on is not compulsory but once the chance has passed that is it you are now playing under conventional rules and once you bust out you are out of the tournament for good.
